This AMI refresher course focuses on the Montessori prepared environment Curriculum for children aged six to twelve. It is specifically designed for Montessori teachers who hold the AMI Diploma in Primary Education (6-12), but other AMI guides, Montessori educators in general.

• Understand the elements and principles that allow the creation and interpretation of an art piece.
• Classify an art piece.
• Understand the history of art.
• Use artistic language to express oneself.

1Introduction to Art in Montessori.

2Elements: line, shape, figure, space, perspective, color, and texture.

3Principles: emphasis, balance, contrast, movement, rhythm, pattern, harmony, and composition.

4Painting: tempera, watercolor, gouache, acrylic, oil, and mixed media.

5Drawing: charcoal, graphite, pastel, and ink.

6Paper and other supports.

7Clay.

8Printmaking.

9Mosaic: history and school materials.

10History of painting.

11History of color
